Let's Play a Game: TUESDAY Expectations

In light of my physical absence this week, we still must take steps to ensure progress continues. I would like to remind ALL of you to refrain from simply creating a building and instead develop "architecture". We have collectively discussed that despite the development of plans, renderings, and an initial design, there remain problems with the clarity of the latter. Each design from Section Two must be unique and driven by a distinct design intention that should be both clearly architectural and clearly manifest in the design. As such, you are required to do the following for this upcoming studio session.

Everyone will have the following:
-PRINTED 11x17 reductions of their presentation boards
-Drawings prepared for the model

On Tuesday you will commence the following:

VIRTUAL
-post what you believe to be your final poster layouts on this blog
-indicate your significant issue(s)
-post an image of the status of your nascent model (i.e. drawings, in-progress model, etc.); indicate what challenge(s) you are facing
-I will see what I can respond to based upon the time difference/conference availabilities

IN STUDIO
-give a Section 2 member you printed reduced posters
-each reviewer must take a moment and write in one sentence what they believe the design intention is without any input from the designer
-each reviewer will mark up the set, scan it and post it back up on this blog
-I will see what I can respond to based upon the time difference/conference availabilities

There will be visitors from both faculty in the studio as well as upper year students. The studio faculty you can ask questions of in my stead. They will let confirm with me that you are all doing your work.

I look forward to seeing your work. Come on Section Two - it's the final push, so let's play.
